Yoda to be featured on Lucas Licensing items in 2013

The folks at Yakface.com broke the news on this last night. As you can see this is based on the Attack of the Clones styling. An OT style would be preferred, but “action shots” sell better with the kids and besides it’s Yoda so in this case beggars can’t be choosers. Now here’s to hoping there is some product released that warrants buying for more than just the packaging.

Jedi Force Yoda & Luke Skywalker

Filling the hole of the discontinued Galactic Heroes line is this new Jedi Force line – not to be confused with the Playskool Jedi Force line from a few years ago.

These are essentially Star Wars toys for the little kiddies (3-6 years old).
They are a step up from the Galactic Heroes line in that they can be posed somewhat, but – to be safe – lack removable weapons, accessories, etc.

Since they are designed for “play time” we’ll guess that’s why the decision was made to include a lightsaber with Yoda despite him being packaged with an ESB styled Luke Skywalker.
As is commonly mentioned here, beggars can’t be choosers, but sometimes even though you can see why, you still question the decisions made.

Adidas: Yoda’s School of Tennis

Adidas continues to put out Star Wars branded items with different themes. These Stan Smith-style shoes were part of the tennis line featuring Darth Vader and Yoda. We’ve never come across these in a retail store around these parts so – like so many other things – lead us to the secondary market to acquire these. As these were purchased without the box (but with the tags still attached), the price was cheaper than most non-Star Wars shoes you would find in stores so it worked out well.

Sideshow Sixth Scale Santa Yoda

Merry Christmas from Santa Yoda!

Based on the Lucasfilm 1981 Holiday Card design by the great Ralph McQuarrie, comes the latest Yoda offering from Sideshow. Nothing too much has changed in the sculpt from the previous sixth scale, but we are treated with all new clothes and accessories. Obviously those include the Santa Suit and the bag of toys. One of the more notable things on this is that the hat is sculpted, not fabric. It doesn’t take away from anything, just an interesting way to do it. This, and the other features – including a nice holiday-themed box – can be seen in the pictures.

Santa Yoda Tree Topper

One of this year’s new items was this Clone Wars-style Santa Yoda tree topper. We read reports of it showing up in various stores, but never found it and wound up getting it off of newegg.com of all places. No matter the source it was an item that needed to be brought into the fold. It’s good and sturdy so it can just be setup to stand on its own if you don’t want to put it on a tree.
