Celebration VI New Logo

September 9th, 2011

The Star Wars Celebration website was updated again today with a new logo and video.  As you might notice in the logo the “I” in the “VI” is made from a certain Jedi Master’s lightsaber.  Also you will notice more imagery of the same character in the video.

This makes up for the gross injustice of Celebration V featuring Boba Fett over the character they should have had front and center for the 30th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back.

Steinbach 2011 Yoda Ornament

August 31st, 2011

Steinbach has added a new Yoda ornament to go with their previously released nutcracker.  As with all the items from the German company, these are hand-made with the utmost attention to detail.  That said, there was some artistic license taken with these ornaments compared to the nutcracker that was very easily identifiable.  It is a great item nonetheless. Celebration VI Details Announced!

June 2nd, 2011

The Star Wars Celebration website was updated today to make the official announcement of when and where Celebration VI would be taking place.  After a lot of speculation, they have decided to return to Orlando, FL, again during August from the 23rd through the 26th in 2012.  This does throw a wrinkle into the plans of having a 30th Anniversary party for Return of the Jedi, but not much can be done about that.

Tickets and hotel reservations can be made now so you can start to make your plans well in advance. We will definitely be in attendance (with some surprises) for what should be an excellent event as Reed surpassed all expectations when they put together Celebration 5.

Hallmark Collectibles

May 20th, 2011

Some of these items were first shown during Celebration V in 2010, and then in March the official site posted some images and details about these items.   The release date on them (something always in flux) was anywhere from early April until Late May depending on where you asked.   With that “knowledge” the search was on to find the Yoda items from this set which did not happen until about a week ago after checking with numerous Hallmark stores and hearing all sorts of different things.   The Yoda one item from the set that we did not purchase was the travel mug, just could not justify the cost on that one.  Maybe if it pops up cheap on eBay down the line.  Update: The Mug was acquired as a gift.

Yoda Misting Fan

May 10th, 2011

Going to start trying to dive into some existing items from the collection and not just new stuff…. for some reason this jumped out when looking around.

There were never many details about this out – this is one of the few pages still up and that was about all that was ever out there.

The collection consisted of Yoda, Vader, and Fett. The site mentioned in the link never had the Yoda in stock so it was another eBay acquisition.

We can’t speak to how well the item works, since it was never used, but it seems to be built the same as any other similar misting fan out there – just with a big Yoda head on top!

Always in motion are the Bobbleheads

May 10th, 2011

A couple Funko Yoda monitor sitter Bobbleheads.

The standard one is based on the standard OT Yoda look.

The Clone Wars variant (from the Clone Wars Adventures Galactic Passport) shares the same body as the standard model.
However, it lightened up the paint job a bit and has a new head sculpt – easy to spot by the much larger ears!

Head on over to the Official Site for the full scoop, but we wouldn’t be doing our due diligence without posting this beauty.

Of course that is only one of the images, but it’s certainly the best!

These have been on order since the day they were announced,  September 16th can’t come soon enough!

Yoda Clone Wars UK Happy Meal Toy

March 20th, 2011

We had not even known these were around until making an eBay search for a completely unrelated item.  That lead to the discovery of this fun little toy from the UK.

It is a Clone Wars animated style Yoda showing off his skill with the Force by lifting this disc and placing it down by simply moving his hand.

yes it is a magnet, but don’t spoil it

I you look at the sheet it shows a Yoda lightsaber  key chain- still working on getting that one.
